The Examination

We go far beyond reading a chart. After a comprehensive assessment of your ocular health, we prescribe the most suitable lens and product solutions for your specific needs, whether that's everyday eyewear, blue-light protection, sports lenses, or contact lenses.

Book Your ExaminationWe measure your eye's clarity using precision lenses and letter charts, testing each eye individually to establish your exact visual acuity.
We determine whether vision correction is needed and, if so, your precise prescription, whether that's glasses or contact lenses.
We examine the back of your eye to view the retina, optic disk, and blood vessels, checking for any signs of disease or abnormality.
By measuring intraocular pressure, we screen for glaucoma. Early detection is vital. Left unchecked, glaucoma can lead to complete blindness.
Frequency
A comprehensive eye test is recommended at least once a year. This way, we can detect any changes and perform preventative measures to ensure your vision and eye health are on track.
However, if you are over 60, have a chronic ailment, or have a family history of visual impairments, more frequent check-ups are recommended to protect your long-term eye health.
Recommended Frequency
Every year for most adults, to stay ahead of any changes to your vision or eye health.
Every 2 years for school-age children not wearing glasses, with annual checks for those who are.
More frequently if over 60, living with a chronic condition, or with a family history of eye disease.
The Process
We start with questions about your personal and family medical history, any symptoms you may have encountered, such as vision shifts or persistent headaches, and lifestyle factors that may affect your vision.
A range of visual tests establish your current acuity, prescription needs, and how your eyes work together. We test each eye individually using precision lenses and letter charts to pinpoint your exact prescription.
We examine the internal and external structures of your eyes using advanced diagnostic equipment, including a retinal examination and intraocular pressure measurement to screen for glaucoma.
After your test, we'll explain your results clearly and prescribe the most suitable lens and product solutions based on your lifestyle and visual needs. We'll also advise on any referrals or follow-up care required. Please bring your current eyewear to your appointment for the most accurate comparison.
